There has been a two-year break before schools restart. It has been a joy to watch the kids return to school, greet their friends, eat lunch together, and play together. However, this is only one side of the argument.

All children were impacted by the pandemic, but some suffered more than others. The worst victims were children from urban slums, tribal belts, isolated rural areas, and socioeconomically disadvantaged parts. Just over 28% of kids in slums and rural areas had access to digital learning when the schools were closed. For lakhs of children who were already struggling in the pre-pandemic world, education was abruptly stopped.

Through its “shiksha ek satat prayaas” program, Manav Purt Nyas has been assisting kids from challenging backgrounds in returning to school and starting over in a hopeful and upbeat manner. Currently, we are directly educating more than 100,000 kids throughout 23 Indian states.
